(PTI) KOCHI: The Kerala high court on Friday refused to stay implementation of the draft Lakshadweep Development Authority Regulation 2021 (LDAR) and Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) introduced by Lakshadweep Administration. A division bench led by justice K Vinod Chandran asked Lakshadweep Administration to respond to the petition challenging LDAR and PASA within two weeks. The court considered a petition filed by Congress leader KP Noushad Ali during the admission hearing. At the hearing, the central government sought time to respond to the plea and the court allowed two weeks. Though the petitioner’s counsel sought a directive to Lakshadweep Administration not to implement anything until then, the court did not agree.

"In view of the hardship being faced by the weaker section of society due to the pandemic, the per unit tariff for domestic consumers with load up to 2kW (kilowatt) and consumption slabs of 0-100 units and 101-300 units have been reduced by Re 1 and 50 paise, respectively," it said.
